Holiday Inn at the Park is the most central full service hotel in Missoula, situated close to the Clark Fork River at the end of a quiet side road, three blocks from Broadway Street. Many of the 200 nicely appointed rooms (on 4 storeys) enjoy mountain or river views, and all are equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker, DVD player and free wi-fi. Some look inwards over the hotel's central atrium. Meals are available from the all-day RiverBend Restaurant, or from many other dining outlets within a few minute's walk. Leisure amenities are the usual pool (indoor), hot tub and fitness center, while meeting facilities include 10 rooms catering for events of up to 1,000 people.

Staybridge Suites Missoula is considered by some to be the best hotel in town, because of its affordable rates, the quiet surroundings, the friendly staff, the range of choices for the free hot breakfast buffet and the modern, well equipped accommodations - all rooms have a full kitchen, plus separate areas for living, working & sleeping. Other complimentary amenities are guest laundry, internet access, evening snacks (on selected days) and an airport shuttle. The all suite/extended stay hotel opened summer 2008 just of Reserve Street (US 93) near the northwest edge of Missoula, a short drive from I-90 exit 101.

Although located in the middle of downtown Missoula along US 12 (Madison Street), Hilton's Doubletree Hotel has a peaceful setting right on the banks of the Clark Fork River, looking south towards a city park on the far side. Interstate 90 is just three blocks away and there are many shops, restaurants, and other attractions within walking distance. The hotel occupies a low rise building of 171 rooms, featuring an executive desk, luxury bedding, patio or balcony and free wi-fi; several suites are available with kitchenette facilities. The on-site restaurant is Finn and Porter, open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus room service. Doubletree Hotel Missoula also offers an outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, complimentary airport shuttle and 9,000 sq ft of meeting space.

A new Holiday Inn Express hotel in Missoula opened late spring 2011, built next to an IHG sister property (the Staybridge Suites) on the north side of town along US 93, a busy street of restaurants, shops and other businesses. This location is 2.5 miles from the international airport (served by complimentary shuttle service) and 4 miles from downtown Missoula. The 82 room property includes a pool, whirlpool, fitness center, meeting space and a dining area for the free hot breakfast.

The Courtyard by Marriott is one of many hotels along Reserve Street (US 93) on the north side of Missoula, 0.4 miles from interstate 90 and within walking distance of a fair selection of restaurants. The hotel is set back a little way from the main road and so provides a quiet night's sleep in all its 92 large, modern rooms, which are equipped with an executive desk, luxurious bedding, free wi-fi, a refrigerator and a microwave. Amenities include an indoor pool & spa, a fitness center, a full service business center, meeting/event space and the Courtyard Cafe, open for breakfast (not complimentary). A free shuttle is operated to the international airport, 2.5 miles west.

Missoula's Best Western hotel has a good reputation for the comfortable rooms, the helpful staff and the quiet, easy-to-reach location - the inn sits on the north side of I-90 exit 101, right next to the steep slopes of Sheep Mountain and along a country road that leads towards the Rattlesnake Wilderness in the nearby Lolo National Forest. The 126 well appointed rooms at the Best Western Plus Grant Creek Inn all contain a refrigerator & microwave; also available are a number of two-room suites with extra amenities including a balcony, fireplace and sofabed. Free full breakfast is prepared each morning, and other services are a hot tub, steam room, fitness center, business center, meeting space and a free shuttle to Missoula International Airport.

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Missoula is the closest hotel to the international airport, just 0.8 miles from the terminal buildings, linked by free shuttle. The property opened summer 2009 and provides high quality extended stay/all-suite accommodation, with 101 studio or one bed suites that all feature a kitchen, HDTV, executive desk, sofa bed and extra comfortable bedding. The surroundings are quiet and lightly developed, part of a small business park, and there isn't much choice for dining; most restaurants are 2 miles southeast, around I-90 exit 101. Amenities at the hotel include free full breakfast, a fitness center, indoor pool, business center and meeting rooms.

There are several new, well equipped hotels along Reserve Street (US 93) in north Missoula; the Hilton Garden Inn is one of the bigger properties, offering 146 spacious rooms (all containing a refrigerator & microwave), a cafe (open for breakfast), a 24 hour convenience store and 22,000 sq ft of meeting/event space - the largest such facility in west Montana. For lunch & dinner there is one restaurant adjacent and plenty more within walking distance along the main road. Leisure amenities are the usual fitness room, hot tub and indoor pool.

On the east side of Missoula, the Comfort Inn occupies an older but well maintained five floor building on the north bank of the Clark Fork River, one block from a supermarket (Albertson's) and several restaurants, and a short distance from the grassy hills of the Lolo National Forest. I-90 runs past just to the north, reaching the international airport after 6 miles (free shuttle available). The main amenities are free breakfast buffet (with hot items), a fitness center, business center, a 1,000 sq ft meeting room and a microwave/refrigerator in each of the 95 rooms.

One of the few hotels on the south side of Missoula, the Quality Inn has a good location along Brooks Street, a busy road lined with restaurants and large stores including K-Mart, yet is also close to the edge of the countryside, and within a mile of the Bitterroot River, Missoula Country Club and Larchmont Golf Course. The inn is fairly old but the staff are friendly, rates low, and a decent range of amenities is provided, principally free continental breakfast, a fitness center, hot tub and a convention center. A refrigerator and microwave are available in some rooms.

Clean rooms, a quiet location and good free continental breakfast are the main attributes of Sleep Inn Missoula, a small, interior corridor hotel near the Brooks Street - Reserve Street junction on the southwest side of the city, 3.5 miles from downtown and 0.8 miles from the main shopping center in the area (Southgate Mall). Other facilities are limited to a small indoor pool & hot tub, a business center and free wi-fi.

The Hampton Inn of Missoula is one of the older properties of this brand but rooms are clean & comfortable, facilities modern and the staff welcoming. The 61 room hotel has a nice location backing on to a creek and a patch of woodland, with views of distant mountains in most directions, yet is also close to shopping and dining - along Reserve Street (US 93), near the north edge of town.
