Idaho Falls Hotels

The Candlewood Suites in Idaho Falls opened summer 2008, providing high quality, extended stay/all-suite accommodation in a substantial, four storey building right next to the Snake River - the hotel has a garden with picnic tables overlooking the water, and a hike/bike trail runs past along the river's edge. Surrounding the hotel are various shops and businesses along Yellowstone Highway (US 26), and there are several larger stores a short drive away including Wal-Mart, beside interstate 15. All rooms at the Candlewood Suites are equipped with a full kitchen; food for cooking can be purchased from the 24 hour convenience store. Other amenities are a fitness center, bbq grills, business center and free guest laundry.

One of the few Idaho Falls hotels on the east side of town, the Holiday Inn Express offers 79 clean, modern rooms, an indoor pool, a 24 hour business center, free hot breakfast buffet, free wi-fi and a free shuttle to the airport (6 miles away). The hotel is part of a major shopping/dining district that includes Teton Park Mall just across the street, and is also just a short walk from Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and Mountain View Hospital. Besides the regular accommodations there are several suites available with hot tub bath, sofa bed and wet bar.

Hilton Garden Inn Idaho Falls is part of a row of hotels along Lindsay Blvd, a quiet road that runs along the west bank of the Snake River, and many of the 113 rooms have views over the water. The Greenbelt path runs right past the hotel, leading along the river to the nearby falls, and there are several restaurants and shops close by, including Wal-Mart. Breakfast and dinner (plus evening room service) are provided on-site at the hotel's Great American Grill; amongst the many other facilities are meeting space, a business center, 24 hour convenience store, fitness center, indoor pool, hot tub and a free local area shuttle.

New for winter 2011-2, Residence Inn by Marriott Idaho Falls overlooks Sportsman Park beside the Snake River - part of the Greenbelt system of trails and parkland running for several miles through the city. The hotel is quite large, with five floors and 107 suites, in studio, one bed or two bed configurations, all featuring a full kitchen, executive desk, free wi-fi and luxurious bedding. Free hot breakfast each day and free receptions on weekday evenings are provided; for other meals there are many restaurants nearby, along River Parkway, or on the far side of the river in the downtown area.

Best Western Driftwood Inn has a scenic setting on the west banks of the Snake River; some rooms have views downstream towards the falls, and all are well equipped, containing a microwave, refrigerator, coffee/tea maker and hairdryer. Rooms with a kitchenette, hot tub bath and balcony are available. The hotel has an outdoor pool, also overlooking the river, and interior amenities of a business center, guest laundry and complimentary wi-fi. Free continental breakfast is served each morning, and for lunch/dinner there is a good selection of restaurants two blocks south along River Parkway.

One of a group of hotels facing the Snake River between I-15 exits 118 and 119, Best Western CottonTree Inn is a large, fairly old but well maintained property offering 94 rooms (some with microwave/refrigerator), and including three types of suite - executive, family and kitchenette. East-facing rooms have views over the river and the adjacent Greenbelt parkland. Rates are quite low but the hotel still has all the expected facilities; an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, guest laundry, courtesy airport shuttle, free wi-fi and meeting space. Free full breakfast is served.

Fairfield Inn Idaho Falls is one of the closest hotels to interstate 15, located adjacent to exit 118 (Broadway Street), next to several fast food restaurants, gas stations and a Wal-Mart superstore. All rooms are nicely decorated in a bright, modern style, and benefit from the luxurious Marriott bedding; a few have a spa and kitchenette facilities. A small, 24 hour convenience store sells drinks & snacks, and the hotel provides free continental breakfast, including hot sandwiches. Leisure facilities are an indoor pool and whirlpool. Parks and trails along the Snake River are reached by a half mile walk along the main road.

Facilities may be standard (free continental breakfast, indoor pool, fitness center, guest laundry) but the recently built (summer 2009) Sleep Inn Idaho Falls receives excellent reviews, for its customer service, cleanliness, reasonable rates and the quiet, convenient location, on the south side of the city next to I-15 exit 116. Most rooms look out over farmland and there are few facilities nearby - the nearest restaurants are around 2 miles north, though good quality free continental breakfast is provided by the hotel. All rooms have a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and pillow top mattresses.

The Comfort Inn of Idaho Falls is a typical highway-side motel providing reliable, mid range accommodation, in a fairly old, interior corridor building, located next to exit 118 (west side) of I-15, in a mostly residential area but close to the usual gas stations and restaurants. The inn has 56 rooms (refrigerator/microwave available), an indoor pool and hot tub; services include free continental breakfast, wi-fi and guest-use copy/fax machines. Pets are welcome, for a fee.
