The Holiday Inn Express hotel in Coeur d'Alene is a typically new, clean and well managed property of 101 rooms & suites, an indoor pool, 24 hour fitness center, whirlpool, business center and a 15-person boardroom. The hotel faces I-90 (exit 11; Northwest Blvd) but has quite a scenic location surrounded by a line of fir trees, less than half a mile from the Spokane River. There are several restaurants near the interstate; other locations close by include Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course, Kootenai Health Center and North Idaho College. Like most hotels in Coeur d'Alene, the Best Western is situated on the north side of town adjacent to I-90 (exit 12) - a busy area with shops, restaurants and gas stations, near Kootenai Health Center. Although fairly old, the 2 floor building and its 122 refrigerator-equipped rooms are very clean and welcoming, and the hotel offers a wide range of amenities, including an on-site restaurant/bar, free full breakfast, a pool & hot tub, sun deck, gift shop, meetings/banquet facilities for up to 800 guests, a fitness center and a complimentary shuttle to the airport (6 miles north). Pets are allowed, with restrictions.

Hilton's Hampton Inn is part of an upscale, recently developed area (Riverstone) on the north side of the city, near the Spokane River at the end of Coeur d'Alene Lake - half a mile from I-90 exit 11, and 2 miles from downtown. Trails run past the hotel along the waterfront and to an adjacent park, which has its own, six acre lake. The hotel is considered by some to be the best in Coeur d'Alene because of the quiet location, the professional staff, the stylish rooms and the above average free breakfast, which includes hot items. It also offers 2,720 sq ft of meeting space, a business center, fitness center and indoor pool/hot tub.

One of several Coeur d'Alene hotels on the north side of I-90 (at exit 13), the Comfort Inn accommodates guests in 69 good sized rooms, all containing a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer and pillow top mattresses. Free continental breakfast (with hot waffles) is provided, and there are plenty of fast food restaurants within one block. Interstate 90 (exit 12) runs right past Motel 6 Coeur d'Alene, providing quick travel to Spokane in the west and the nearby national forest lands to the east. Lake Coeur d'Alene and the city center are 2 miles south, but there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance, beside the interstate.
