The very popular Slide Rock State Park extends about a mile along the deep canyon of Oak Creek, north of Sedona, and includes a section where the stream flows over smooth red rocks, ideal for wading and sunbathing, and swimming in some of the deeper pools. The park also contains buildings and other relics from a pioneer homestead established in 1907.
