There are numerous groups of eroded sandstone formations near the Paria River within Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument; one location with a selection of interesting hoodoos, both angular and smooth, is known as Edmaiers Secret, bordering the Buckskin Gulch tributary, and reached from the Buckskin trailhead along House Rock Valley Road. Although small in extent, the area has a variety of unusually shaped stone pinnacles, some formed of very thin, criss-crossing layers, and can be explored by a round-trip hike of about 5 miles.
