This panorama is taken from the lower end of the Fall River valley, towards the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park; at this point the river flows across a wide grassy plain between wooded hillsides, of Tombstone Ridge to the south and Bighorn Mountain to the north. The higher, treeless peak just visible to the west is 12,454 foot Mount Chapin.
