The Econo Lodge is the only major hotel in the small eastern plains town of Calhan, CO, and has a pleasant, countryside setting on the edge of town along the main road (US 24, 5th St). The lodge is quite small - just 29 rooms, all on the ground floor - and has basic facilities of free continental breakfast, free internet access, and some rooms with microwave/refrigerator. For other meals guests can walk a few blocks west to the two main restaurants in town. There is not much to do in the area, but the many attractions around Colorado Springs are just 40 miles away.
