The 2.4 mile Elizabeth Lake Trail ends beside the east shore of the lake, opposite the steep, mostly treeless slopes of Unicorn Peak in the Cathedral Range. The north and south shores of the lake are quite densely wooded, while to the west the land is more open, covered by a mixture of grassy meadows and small bushes.
