This panorama is taken from near the east end of the boardwalk trail across Bumpass Hell. The large hot spring beside the path is East Pyrite Pool, a very active feature whose waters are topped by a silvery layer of iron pyrite deposits. On the other side, the trail passes the less violent East Pyrite Pool, filled with cloudy grey water.
