The 75 room, AAA Three Diamond-rated Holiday Inn Express Twentynine Palms/Joshua Tree at 71809, Twentynine Palms Highway has a desert setting with many rooms enjoying uninterrupted views south towards the Joshua Tree Wilderness. The hotel is less than two miles from the headquarters of Joshua Tree National Park and the Oasis visitor center, and a mile from the town center where most of the shops & restaurants are found. This is a clean and well managed establishment offering free hot breakfast, free internet access, an outdoor pool/hot tub and a business center. Besides the regular accommodations, suites are available with added amenities of a sink, refrigerator, microwave and sofa bed.

The Best Western Garden Inn & Suites is situated on the west edge of Twentynine Palms along the main road (CA 62), overlooking desert lands north & south, and next to a small residential district with shops and three restaurants just beyond. The center of Twentynine Palms lies 2.8 miles east and the town of Joshua Tree is 12 miles west. All 83 rooms at the Best Western have a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, free internet access and ironing facilities; some offer views of the hotel's secluded outdoor pool. Free breakfast buffet is provided each day, and other facilities include a fitness room, guest laundry and basic business services.

Summer 2009 saw the opening of a brand new Marriott hotel in Twentynine Palms - the 80 room Fairfield Inn, built just off Hwy 62 on the west side of town, opposite a small supermarket and a few restaurants, though still in a mostly rural neighborhood. The hotel features free continental breakfast, free internet access, a fitness center, pool, whirlpool and a microwave in each room. The main Joshua Tree National Park entrance is two miles east, while the trailhead for the 1.6 mile hike to the beautiful oasis of Fortynine Palms is a short distance west.

On the main road through Twentynine Palms (north side), the Motel 6 is an affordable, three storey, exterior corridor property with basic facilities, of an outdoor pool, laundry, wi-fi, cable TV and free coffee. Some rooms are available with refrigerator and microwave. South-facing rooms have fine views to the mountains of Joshua Tree National Park, though those on the north side are quieter as are away from the main road. There is one restaurant adjacent and plenty more within one mile either east or west.

A brand new Holiday Inn Express hotel opens summer 2010 in Twentynine Palms, replacing the older property a few blocks west. The new hotel has two floors, 84 rooms & suites, an outdoor pool & hot tub, fitness center and 24 hour business center. Free hot breakfast buffet is prepared each morning; lunch and dinner are available from two restaurants opposite (Del Taco/Pizza Hut), or from other places a short distance west along the main road (CA 62; Twentynine Palms Hwy).
