Poway, CA, is a small town in the hills 20 miles north of San Diego, close to interstate 15 and about 15 miles from the nearest beach (at Del Mar). Of the limited selection of lodging, most central is the 43 room, 2 floor, exterior corridor Best Western Country Inn, located along the main street through town (Poway Rd), adjacent to several shops and restaurants. Room rates are rather cheaper than for hotels closer to the coast, though the hotel still has a decent range of amenities, including a heated outdoor pool, hot tub, gazebo & sundeck, guest laundry, free continental breakfast and a refrigerator/microwave in each room.
