Kettleman City is a tiny village 54 miles south of Fresno near I-5. The main place to stay in town is the Best Western Kettleman City Inn & Suites, beside exit 309 of the interstate and approximately half way between Los Angeles & Sacramento. The 72 spacious rooms are on 2 floors, arranged around 3 sides of a central parking area with an outdoor pool at one corner; those on the outside look out over mostly undeveloped farmland. There are about 8 restaurants in the vicinity though the town center, 1.5 miles north along highway 41, has no facilities at all.
