Although not quite on the beach (0.3 miles inland), many of the 94 rooms of the Best Western Encinitas Inn & Suites have views over the Pacific Ocean as well as the hotel's elegant, wooded grounds, which include an outdoor pool, hot tub, many palm trees and a courtyard garden. The 3 storey inn is built on a small hill half way (one block) between I-5 and US 101, within walking distance of shopping and dining in the center of Encinitas. All rooms are large, comfortable and well furnished but the Jacuzzi and kitchenette suites have added facilities. The hotel serves complimentary continental breakfast and is adjacent to a Japanese restaurant.

Recently acquired by the Quality Inn chain, this old but fully renovated hotel (formerly the Portofino Beach Inn) has a fine location facing the Coastal Highway (US 101) next to a few shops & restaurants, and just a 0.3 mile walk from the nearest beach. Downtown Encinitas is about 4 blocks south. There are 45 rooms at the hotel, larger than average, all containing microwave/refrigerator and some with a whirlpool bath. Free hot breakfast and a large outdoor hot tub are the main two amenities (no pool), but swimming is available at Moonlight State Beach a few blocks west.

Econo Lodge Encinitas is a 30 room, 2 floor motel in a residential area alongside Highway 101 a few blocks north of the town center. The nearest beach is 0.2 miles away and several restaurants are also within walking distance though the best selection is towards downtown Encinitas, about a mile south. The lodge offers relatively cheap accommodation but the rooms are clean & comfortable, the staff friendly & helpful, and the good range of amenities includes free deluxe continental breakfast, an outdoor pool, a newsstand and a microwave/refrigerator in each room.
