Along Firestone Blvd through the center of Downey, the Comfort Inn is a small (40 room), three storey, exterior corridor motel offering free continental breakfast, an outdoor hot tub and guest laundry. Several of the rooms have a whirlpool bath; all contain a microwave/refrigerator, and have views over the central courtyard parking area. The main road is lined with small shops and restaurants, with a better selection available half a mile away at Stonewood Center Mall. In the other direction, the nearest freeways are I-5 and I-605, allowing quick travel to Los Angeles, Long Beach and Anaheim.

New for 2008, the Econo Lodge motel along Firestone Blvd in central Downey features 40 reasonably priced, very clean rooms that all contain a microwave; some have a whirlpool bath. Rooms are reached by exterior corridors, around a central courtyard that also contains an outdoor pool; other facilities are limited to a free newspaper and copy/fax services, but the location is good, with Stonewood Center Mall half a mile west and I-605 half a mile east.
