The summit of Picacho Peak overlooks 30 miles of the I-10 corridor in central Arizona, from the irrigated farmland near Casa Grande south towards the Tortolita and Santa Catalina Mountains bordering Tucson. Directly opposite, on the far side of the interstate, are the Picacho Mountains, while in the other direction (southwest), the flat desert extends to several other distant ranges, part of Ironwood Forest National Monument and the Tohono O'Odham Indian Reservation.
