Taylor and neighboring Snowflake are two small towns in the shallow valley of Sliver Creek in east central Arizona, reached by Hwy 77 between Holbrook and Show Low. Taylor borders the Sitgreaves National Forest to the south, while the high plains of the Colorado Plateau stretch for many miles northwards, one nearby attraction being Petrified Forest National Park, a 45 minute drive away. There are very few facilities in town, just a few restaurants and shops, but to the north, half way to Snowflake, is a shopping center with Basha's supermarket and two motels.
Serving Snowflake and Show Low as well as Taylor, the Rodeway Inn along Main Street (highway 77) in Taylor, is located in a semi-desert region but just a few miles from the lakes and woodland of the Mogollon Rim. The hotel provides free hot breakfast each morning, while for other dining there are two restaurants adjacent and several others within walking distance in Taylor. The 42 rooms are on two floors linked by exterior corridors, and all contain a microwave & refrigerator. Also available are free wi-fi, guest laundry and basic business services.
