Grand Canyon National Park > The South Rim > QTVR Panorama

A panorama of Desert View, the easternmost viewpoint along the South Rim Drive of the Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. Rain was falling on the day the component photographs were taken, hence the view was much less colorful than usual. The Colorado River flows a mile beneath the rim - at this time, recent heavy rains had caused flooding of the Paria River and other upstream tributaries, causing the waters to be distinctly muddy. The Desert View watchtower is just visible at the canyon edge.
