Indian Garden and Plateau Point
Grandeur Point lies a short distance west of Yavapai Point along the paved west rim trail, and because it has no separate road access, fewer people visit even though the views are just as good. The actual point is a small, flat promontory projecting westwards, looking down on the whole length of the Bright Angel Trail along Garden Creek and to Plateau Point - from the many switchbacks near the top, next to Grand Canyon Village, past the Indian Garden rest stop and down to the lower end by the river. A small section of the Colorado can be seen, near the end of Bright Angel Canyon. Further west are several distinctive peaks (The Battleship, Dana Butte) beneath the next major point (Maricopa) and around 15 miles of the canyon in the far distance as it bends round towards the north.

Indian Garden
The view east is a little restricted by the cliffs of Yavapai Point. Pipe Creek and the lower end of Cedar Ridge occupy the near ground; beyond are countless buttes and canyons on the north rim, then above, forming the horizon, is the wooded, 8,000 foot North Kaibab Plateau.
